We’re running a WTD10 ‘tumblog’ alongside our WTD10 blog. A ‘tumblog’ is a variation of a blog (using Tumblr) that favors short-form, mixed-media posts over the longer editorial posts frequently associated with blogging.
So show the world what your theatre is doing! We’ve set up the WTD10 Tumblog so that anyone participating or interested in World Theatre Day can post items to it. You can post any type of media to the tumblog, though it must be related in someway to theatre and to World Theatre Day. Other materials will be removed at the discretion of the webmasters.
Here’s how to post up your media to the WTD Tumblr site
Click this link to begin an email to our media submission address. You might also like to put this address in your phone and pass it on to your friends: http://tinyurl.com/wtdmedia
The link will start a new email to the Tumblr feed. Email your text, photo, or a link to your You Tube video to our email address. Include a description of your media in the subject line of your email. Please include:
- your theater’s name
- what city you’re from
- and a link to your website
Once you send the email, your media will appear IMMEDIATELY be on our tumblog. A team of twitter-ready webmasters will help you troubleshoot your post immediately if it doesn’t look right. ALL VIDEO WILL NOT APPEAR IMMEDIATELY ON THE SITE, however our webmasters will convert and embed your video as expediently as possible.

Tips for YouTube Files
Make sure the link you include in the body of the email includes the question mark in the second part of the file name
i.e., http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsORj1kv8Yg
and not
http://www.youtube.com/v/IsORj1kv8Yg
Don’t forget to grab as much media material as you can during your event on March 27. Words, sounds, photos and videos are a great way to share your work and the energy of your theater community with the rest of the world.
We’re aiming to have the World Theater Day Tumblog be a resource for your local events and community interest. Share it with your local theater goers. Some cities are even planning multi-media parties where short videos and images from the tumblelog are displayed as part of the entertainment. Be creative, and have fun!
